Project Information
Debary Elementary School, located in Volusia County, Florida, received the addition of a 15,616 s.f., two story, 12 classroom project constructed between 2-two story classroom wings, with the back of the new structure facing the school courtyard. As construction manager on this project, Mark Construction Co. teamed up with DDP Architects and VCS to coordinate activities while working on an active campus. Jessica Lunsford requirements were strictly adhered to due to our close proximity to school children. We enforced a “zero tolerance” in regards to abiding by the Jessica Lunsford regulations. The structural shell of this building was constructed of slab on grade, composite concrete 2nd floor deck, exterior walls of masonry and brick veneer, standing seam roofing over light gauge trusses and metal deck. The construction also included building around and active elevator that was required to remain active during construction.
